Additional information

Continuity and Inventiveness

The content of the paper is structured around thought and practice first described at a limited invitation Royal Scottish Academy Exhibition and Salon Lecture amongst peers Gordon Benson and Richard Murphy. It promotes an architectural vocabulary now evident amongst new rural practitioners from Scotland to the USA. The content has directly informed RIAS policy in 'Why use an Architect' document and Scottish Government exemplar of designing for place: http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/Built-Environment/AandP/InspirationalDesigns/ProjectType/Singlehouserural/Drummond. Other contributors to the volume included Peter Eisenmann and Adrian Wisniewski.
