I guest edited this special issue and commissioned the essays. I wrote the Introduction, contributed a 9,000-word essay on Judith Katz, and conducted and transcribed the interview with Valerie Mason-John. My essay on Katz has since been reprinted in a new edition of her novel: Judith Katz, The Escape Artist (Ann Arbor, MI: Bywater Books, 2013).
