Mathematical model of flow in the vitreous humor induced by saccadic eye rotations: effect of geometry.
This work studied effects of shape on the flow of vitreous humour in the eye, showing that it makes significant qualitative differences with crucial implications for drug distribution. It led to: an invitation to author a 2012 review paper in Annu Rev Fluid Mech - the highest impact factor review journal in the field (Thomson Reuters 2013); becoming a partner on a European summer school (Fluid2Bio Intensive Programme); the organisation of a EUROMECH Colloquium (held in Imperial in 2010 with IMA support); and an invitation to act as External Examiner of a PhD thesis at University of Southampton.
