Additional information

<01>Originality: This paper proposes a novel generalized quasi-linear model for delta-sigma modulators that can cater for single-, dual-, multiple-sinusoidal and Gaussian inputs. The proposed model is thus not restricted to a single type of input signal and is shown to deliver very good correlation with the simulated results.

Significance: The proposed model saves designers substantial time when evaluating these structures and is well-suited for data converters that can be deployed in portable communications devices, audio applications and medical instrumentation.

Rigour: Mathematical analyses support all the major findings of this research. Results published in a leading, peer-reviewed journal.
