A multi-objective optimisation model for a general polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell system
The design of fuel cells typically needs to attempt to satisfy conflicting objectives, such as minimising the size of the equipment while maximising the efficiency. This paper presents a multi-objective optimisation model for investigation of the trade offs between conflicting objectives. The results show that there can be an easily identified subset of the design space where both objectives can be reasonably satisfied. This work provides the basis for more rigorous design by practitioners that are not optimisation experts and should prove to be a useful reference article for future work in this area.
