Double-weighted statement

A Cultural History of Heredity summarizes results from a large-scale, collaborative project. Its subject spans seven centuries of the complex history of hereditarian thought in the life sciences broadly understood, and we had to integrate a wide range of heterogeneous sources – usually dealt with by different disciplines and many of them so far untapped – into an original and convincing narrative. Five international workshops were organized for input from specialists, and the book as a whole was rewritten in three rounds of intense revision.
