Additional information

This paper presents for the first time a new concept generation method that integrates digital information support. It is based on Rohrbach’s well-established 6-3-5 Method that has received little update or development. The paper demonstrates through an experimental application that by incorporating information searching and sharing, the new method resulted in design concepts of superior quality, variety and detail than conventionally generated. The reviewers (Editor: yoram@eng.tau.ac.il) commented that this paper presented “an interesting empirical study comparing a traditional creativity method 6-3-5 against a modification of the method” and as such is a highly visible innovation in design methodology.
