Additional information

This original paper has advanced the idea of how to model and simulate the vortex-induced vibration of cylindrical structures in sheared currents. A reviewer stated “this paper presents a new prediction model for VIV response of long flexible riser” (editor, kashi@naoe.eng.osaka-u.ac.jp) by applying a powerful nonlinear modal analysis to tackle a challenging industrial fluid-structure interaction problem, and providing prediction results when compared with industrial experimental data and MIT predicted results (OMAE2008-57108 paper).
