An integrated environment for organisational decision support

An organisational decision-support solution for complex product development programmes, developed with a world-leading defence contractor, is presented. The work significantly advances the state-of-the-art, demonstrating strategic tactical and operational decision-support across life-phases using situational awareness to trigger complex emergent decisions. The decision-support solution was evaluated by BAE Systems and MoD representatives with 65-80% stating that it provided necessary support for complex development programmes (iain.mckenna@baesystems.com). The research: “reinforced evidence based decision-making within BAE Systems in particular Maritime – Naval Ships and was a prime driver for organisational changes to engineering information systems and other infrastructure” (ron.brittain@baesystems.com) - helping establish a strategic research partnership.
