<20> We describe a real world multi-session study of an eyes/hands-free interface designed to be used on the move. Participants used the Gesture RSS reader on their daily commute over a week with instrumented usability techniques used to collect usage and context data and post hoc interviews to measure social acceptability. Published in the main conference for multimodal interfaces, this work demonstrates novel interaction techniques usable while mobile and encumbered, pushing the boundary for sensing, while introducing a novel methodology to evaluate perfomative interactions in a real world setting. Crossan designed and implemented the interface, interaction techniques and study.
