Additional information

<01> A novel approach for the defragmentation of the available space on a partially reconfigurable device at design-time (offline) and run-time (online) is proposed which is proved that it can solve 2-D defragmentation instances of practical size to optimality. In order to deal with new and changing demands, the proposed method would enable multiple applications to be configured or reconfigured on FPGAs with minimum interference with running tasks on the device and also it maximizes resource utilization in FPGAs to accommodate more applications. Our approach is validated for a set of realistic benchmark instances.
