Double-weighted statement

This substantial analysis of British political thought in the early modern period is rooted in the primary sources. Written as a survey, it is throughout based upon close reading of the extensive source material (MSS, pamphlets and books), conducted over many years. It covers an extended period of time, and is the only research-based study of British political though that spans most of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
