Additional information

This research project consisted of a professional artist development (PAD) programme designed and delivered by Anna Francis, and commissioned via a New Art Gallery Walsall, Longhouse bursary. The programme took place in Walsall in 2009, and was based in the New Art Gallery Walsall, where I was artist in residence for a month. The task was to create a PAD programme for other artists that would research the ways in which the gallery interacts with public spaces outside the gallery. My project involved developing this programme for other artists. Each week over four weeks a different set of five artists came to the gallery to explore a range of artistic intervention techniques. The project was documented via a blog, and a publication. It was then commissioned again in 2010 for West Bromwich and was based in an empty shop in Queen’s Square shopping centre.
