Mapping Free French London: spaces, places, traces and Conclusion: a temporal and spatial mapping of the French in London
(Contribution to an edited book)
The co-edited book has eighteen other contributors (including the co-editor) who are a selected mixture of well-established and early career researchers. The book project as whole was conceived and directed by Kelly. Her written contributions to this first history of the French in London are a sole-authored historical chapter and a sole-authored conclusion.
(Rationale for grouping of 2 items)
Kelly’s sole-authored conclusion moves beyond an overview of the volume and adds further recent work to include research on the 2012 French presidential and legislative campaigns in London and on further contemporary manifestations of the French presence in London. As such it complements and extends both the historical chapters in the book, including Kelly’s own chapter on the Second World War Free French in London submitted together with this item, and the final chapter on contemporary London and its French residents.
