Influence of surfactant solubility on the deformation and breakup of a bubble or capillary jet in a viscous fluid
The numerical method developed in this work is in use by leading scientists. Li was invited by Prof Maurice Rossi (ID_in_audit_file@upmc.fr) and Prof Christophe Josserand (ID_in_audit_file@upmc.fr) to visit University of Paris 6 in 2011 and 2012 to discuss the methods introduced in the paper. Prof Rossi's group is currently using Li's code to investigate droplet bouncing above Faraday waves (for atomisation processes), while Prof Josserand's group is using it to study the splashing mechanism of droplet impact (with application to impact of a fuel droplet on the walls of a combustion chamber, pesticide sprays, ink-jet printing and soil erosion).
