Presented a novel instrument from an EU funded project (FP6-Mobility-512247) across several countries looking at food powders, with significant interest from industry (DSM, Amylum, Nestle) due to substantial financial losses (£10m's) from fall-off of flavouring powders from snacks. A substantial follow-on project has been funded by EU (ITN 264722) and an instrument manufacturer is interested in working with Berry, Bradley, Farnish and another collaborative group to develop the technique further for commercialisation (EPSRC proposal in preparation). Contribution of researcher: Co-inventor of instrument.
