A BEM sensitivity formulation for three-dimensional active noise control
The first computational method capable of determining both optimum position of the control volume and the optimum location/orientation of the secondary source in Active Noise Control (ANC). The method which is based on BEM and sensitivity analysis was applied to the complex environment of an aircraft cabin. The new ANC strategy was implemented and validated inside a mock up cabin at Thales in Toulouse during an industrial workshop. The research was key in securing an EU project SEAT coordinated by ICL. An invited presentation at Aerodays Conference in Madrid. Article in the CORDIS magazine: http://cordis.europa.eu/result/brief/rcn/7351_en.html
