Additional information

<22>Possibility theory and Dempster-Shafer (belief) theory are two of the most popular theories of

uncertainty. This paper is an important contribution to the study of the connection between the two formalisms, and bridges the gap between belief and possibility by extending Cuzzolin’s geometric approach to belief measures to possibility measures. The distance-minimization methods developed here were further developed in an ISIPTA'11 Best Poster and a IEEE-TFS journal paper in press (I.F. 5.5), and contributed to an upcoming Springer monograph.
