Additional information

<22>This paper laid the foundations of a geometric approach to uncertainty measures and represents a contribution to the field of imprecise probability. It led to further publications: 8 journals papers and an upcoming Springer monograph, the first book on belief theory for twenty years and the very first on the geometry of uncertainty. The work also generated a PRICAI'08 Best Paper and an ISIPTA'11 Best Poster Award. It indirectly led to Cuzzolin’s membership of the Belief Society's board, his position as Chair of the next BELIEF'14 Conference and his leading authorship of two upcoming survey papers invited by IJAR.
