Additional information

<08> This paper is a development of the theory of descriptive semantics, addressing the problem of defining the semantics of UML. Descriptive semantics is a novel approach which was proposed and developed in Shan’s PhD supervised by Zhu. Based on the theory, a tool was developed by Shan which has been used to verify models, including compliance to design patterns. The International Journal of Software and Informatics invited Zhu to edit a special issue on Software Modelling and Meta-Modelling. The reviews of the paper were handled by the journal’s editor-in-chief.
