Adaptive probability-based broadcast forwarding in energy-saving sensor networks
<04>This paper shows how broadcast and sleep-scheduling parameters can be tuned to achieve good trade-offs in network and energy performance, which are vital for sustainable machine-to-machine communication. Our work relies on extensive simulations, and was later implemented and validated with real sensor devices by co-authors in the IEEE workshop on Pervasive Computing (PerSens’07). An earlier version of this work was presented at IEEE ICDCS, in 2005. The knowledge from this work was used in a project on energy conservation in dual-radio sensors and was published in IEEE ICDCS 2008, and won 2nd place in an ACM Mobicom Student Research Competition.
