<22> This is a particularly compelling verification of our neurocomputational model of human attention. It tests a prediction that is counter-intuitive unless you subscribe to our Simultaneous Type/ Serial Token theory. Such demonstrations are a holy grail of theory development in Cognitive Neuroscience. The publishing journal is in the top handful of Psychology journals. Although this paper is within psychology literature, it is computational in nature. It presents the results of running a neural network model and then experimentally verifying that these model predictions hold for the human perceptual system.
