Additional information

The study was among the first to investigate patterns of use of older people in 3D virtual worlds, which could have important implications in supporting healthy ageing (e.g. via visualisation of 3D health data or engagement in virtual social interaction). The study highlighted unique characteristics of thousands of older users in such an environment, providing useful insights for the design and development of accessible 3D virtual worlds for this user group. It has led to Ang being invited to give presentations at the University of York (Dr Paul Cairns, pcairns@cs.york.ac.uk), University of Cambridge (Dr Philip Woodall, pw325@cam.ac.uk) and Roskilde University, Denmark (Prof Sisse Siggaard Jensen, sisse@ruc.dk).
