Numerical Simulation of Damages in FRP Laminated Structures under Transverse Quasi-Static or Low-Velocity Impact Loads
This chapter is considered to be the most extensive detailed output covering the damage simulations of laminated composites. The work is part of an extremely fruitful collaboration between Chiba and Tohoku University in Japan and the University of Sunderland. The work includes careful experiments and development of analytical/numerical tools with a particular objective of developing efficient analytical methodologies. The authors of this chapter are internationally distinguished for their huge contributions and committed to maintain the highest standard of research. This work and ongoing collaboration are supported by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and multi-funders in Japan. This work carried out in this chapter has been extensively reviewed by 5 international experts before accepted in the book. It is worth mentioning that the entire book has also been extensively reviewed by more than 80 world-class experts in composite materials. This book is a pioneer on using composites in structural complements of vehicle body, which anticipated to be used as a main reference for all academic staff/engineers/students, and automotive industries.
