This exhibition Reflective Histories: Contemporary Art Interventions at Traquair was a partnership between Edinburgh Printmakers, Scotland’s leading print workshop, and Traquair House in Innerleithan supported by a grant of £68,000 from Creative Scotland. Logue received an artist’s fee of £1,000 plus a production budget towards costs and the editioning of the prints.

http://www.edinburghprintmakers.co.uk/exhibitions/reflective-histories Logue was commissioned to contribute 2 sculptures: The Hunted 1 & 2 (1.65m tall, resin with stone mix cast, 2012) and 20 lithographs and screen prints entitled We Live In Hope (edition of 20, 56 x 74.5 cm, 2012) that form the submission here. This exhibition comprising seven leading Scottish artists was to produce original site-specific works that related to the historic and heritage contexts of Traquair House and its gardens, whilst exploiting aspects of the location’s personal, local, national and international significance. http://www.traquair.co.uk/ The two bear sculptures, casts of archery practice targets, were positioned in the gardens and the lithographs were exhibited within Traquair House. The hunting theme symbolised by the bear sculptures and prints references the fact that Traquair House as Scotland’s oldest inhabited house dating from 1107 was originally a hunting lodge for the Kings and Queens of Scotland and situated in the vast Ettrick Forest that was an ideal location for hunting wild animals. An accompanying catalogue, Reflective Histories: Contemporary Art Interventions at Traquair 2012, (Edinburgh Printmakers, ISBN 9780954153052) contained an essay by Ruth Pelzer-Montada and incorporated a biography and an artist’s statement by Logue outlining the genesis of the works and their associations to the site. Logue also gave a public talk at Traquair House on 28th September 2012 as part of a series of interactive events. [16 adult participants].The exhibition was attended by 11,939 visitors [source: Traquair House] and generated considerable local, national and international coverage.
