Shakespeare, Trauma and Contemporary Performance
Shakespeare, Trauma and Contemporary Performance is the first monograph that considers trauma, Shakespeare and performance studies and argues that performances of Shakespeare's texts variously memorialise, remember and witness traumatic events and histories. The request to double-weight this item is based on its presentation of critical insights and arguments that are dependent upon the completion of a lengthy period of data collection in UK and non-UK-based archives and libraries of an extensive body of material. Specifically, the central claims were generated in relation to an analysis of diverse cultural contexts (South Africa, New Zealand, UK) and subjects (apartheid, homophobia, colonisation, war).
