Additional information

A methodology and substantive test data reported in this paper shows that the rapid assessment of the carbonation resistance of structural concrete is reliable and accurate. This is an important step towards the development of a British Standard for accelerated carbonation testing and reduces the test period to 6 weeks compared to 18 months for the European Standard (previously developed in Dundee). The work is based on a comprehensive test programme for carbonation that has been undertaken in Dundee for over 20 years.
