Additional information

This paper is by Lin, RA and Stylios PI. Fabrics are the most suitable materials for taking-up complex 3D shapes by wrapping. Their diverse properties allow designers and engineers to work together for achieving new and aesthetically pleasing products. Fabric drape on body is of great importance and has preoccupied artists and scientists to accurately predict its behaviour since ancient times. The first part of this investigation focuses on pre-buckling deformation behaviour related to fabric aesthetic features. This paper completes the research by providing a non-linear prediction of post-buckling drape behaviour, by incorporating fabric properties for realistic and precise prediction.
