This output is an edited book originating from the International Sparta Seminar co-organised by Hodkinson and Anton Powell. As co-editor, Hodkinson shared equal responsibility with Powell for the selection of the book's contributors, design of its contents, detailed critiques of all the draft chapters and approval of the final versions.
