Additional information

This paper arose from a project with collaborators from Universities of Bath and Erlangen (Germany). By employing models for photopolymer blends in previously unexplored geometries, the Monte Carlo simulations presented here achieved an important negative result which challenged a widely-held assumption. This directly influenced experimental research programmes into organic solar cells based on polymer blends.
