Significance of output:

<12>This work provides a novel approach for addressing the problem of electricity network overload when significant numbers of electric vehicles are being charged at home, by combining auction mechanisms and the smart grid. The work led to viral discussions on the web, and received considerable publicity on blogs such as Science Daily and SW Innovation News. Also, it resulted in a number of international invited talks. An earlier version was published at AAMAS2011 which has has been highly cited. Furthermore, this work was a key factor in the appointment of one of the authors, Sebastian Stein, as a lecturer.
