Additional information

This is the first of two volumes (co-edited with David Cesarani, Jessica Reinisch and Suzanne Bardgett) representing the proceedings of the international conference “Beyond camps and forced labour”, held at the Imperial War Museum, London, in 2009. The second volume, Justice, Politics and Memory in Europe after the Second World War (360 pp.) was edited by the same colleagues. Steinert was involved in selecting contributors and full editorial work of both volumes. Additionally, he authored an article on ‘Jewish Survivors, DPs and Germans in British Eyes’ (pp. 15-34) based on original research drawing on a broad range of primary sources.
