Additional information

This research led by Anand, was funded by TechniTex Faraday Partnership - EPSRC, Remploy Ltd and Future Textiles UK. This paper describes the need, design, development and full characterisation of novel slash-and-cut proof materials for the police, armed forces and the public, that are light weight, comfortable, and can be worn for long periods. These novel fabrics have passed the Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB) slash-resistance standard for the UK Police (2006). A full UK patent has been granted and a wide range of products, based on SARK technology, are being commercially produced and marketed by Future Textiles, UK.
