Dr Jonathan Edgeworth is a Consultant Microbiologist at the Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and an Honorary Reader at King's College London (KCL). He is Director of the Centre for Clinical Infection and Diagnostics Research (CIDR), a laboratory and seminar space established in 2011 jointly by the Directorate of Infection at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and the KCL Department of Infectious Diseases that hosts about 10 staff from both institutions. Dr Edgeworth has three Programmed Activities for research leadership, supervision and innovation. CIDR researchers work on healthcare-associated infections, antimicrobial resistance, diagnostic development and infectious diseases treatment studies. Dr Edgeworth co-supervises PhD students with KCL academics. Dr Edgeworth is principal investigator on an NIHR CLRN portfolio study of S. aureus treatment for which the Chief Investigator is a KCL clinical academic (Reader) in CIDR. Dr Edgeworth supervises a KCL Senior Lecturer in Infection Control Nursing and research nurses collecting samples for storage in the KCL infectious diseases biobank. His main research interest is S. aureus (MRSA) disease and he has published over 20 papers in this field over the past six years.

Claire Harrison is a Consultant Haematologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and a member of the Integrated Cancer Centre at King's College London. She has an active research programme directed at improving diagnosis, risk definition, and therapy of Myeloproliferative Disorders (MPDs), in particular Essential Thrombocythaemia. Claire’s work is closely aligned with the College and its interests in MDS. The papers returned in this submission relate to Claire’s collaborative work on mutations in MPDs and her lead role in successfully trialling JAK inhibitors to patients with myelofibrosis.
