Double-weighted statement

This book uses an extensive body of material including a wide range of geographically-detailed census data covering almost two centuries, digitised by two ESRC grants, and a range of other extensive data sets. These primary sources were very complex to analyse due to their geographical nature, which required the creation and analysis of GIS databases of the data’s changing spatial distributions. The use of these resources enabled us to employ GIS to present the first geographically detailed analysis of stability and change in Irish religion and society over the long-term.
