Additional information

<01> Originality: This paper presents novel compact mathematical expressions that characterize the quantizer in sigma-delta modulators more accurately. These can be easily integrated into the design process, which not only deliver enhanced accuracy but also significantly speed-up the evaluation process for any type of lowpass sigma-delta modulator topology.

Significance: The paper proposes a faster solution to the design of lowpass sigma-delta based data converters for audio and medical applications.

Rigour: Mathematical analyses support all the major findings of this research. Results published in a leading, peer-reviewed journal.
