Additional information

<26> Originality: The paper focuses on the implementation of the modular color image difference model incorporated in the latest image Colour Difference Model (iCAM) recommended by the CIE (International Commission of Illumination), for the evaluation of compressed images using lossy JPEG and JPEG2000. A novel image classification method is also presented here for calculation of image busyness.

Significance: Such research is vital for establishing the validity of CIE models, and the use of such models in quantifying fidelity in image compression.

Rigour: Mathematical models and analysis supports all findings.
