<01> Originality: This paper presents a hardware implementation of a fuzzy controller (FC) for adjusting the rotational speed of two motors of a real solar-powered air-conditioner. A coupling FC (CFC) was incorporated into a FC to compensate for the dynamic coupling among each degree of freedom.

Significance: The paper proposes a feasible solution to low-cost renewable energy-based industrial systems.

Rigour: The CFC improved the coupling effects and optimized the quantity of rules required. Results published in a highly peer-reviewed journal, currently ranked in the 6th position at the ISI Web of Knowledge (Energy).
