Additional information

Up to January 2013, this paper was the most read article recorded on the journal’s website (315 views). The project was funded by Pilkington Plc, a UK glass manufacturer, now part of NSG Group. The research has led to the development of a computer model KU-GLAZ, which is currently used by Pilkington to improve the composition of their manufactured glass to make them more resistant in fires. The work also led to an invited publication in the FABIG (Fire and Blast Information group) Newsletter 45.
