Additional information

Wiles originally conceived this project working with another co-editor, who withdrew because of new administrative responsibilities. The shape of the volume was in place when Christine Dymkowsi joined Wiles as co-editor. Wiles concentrated on shaping the volume, signing up the participants, organising a conference which almost all the participants attended, and subsequently giving feedback on the concept and shape of the contributions in order to create a unified volume, while Dymkowsi concentrated on the more detailed work of editing the text of the contributions and standardising presentation. The shape and conception of the volume is essentially that of Wiles.
