Additional information

<26> This paper introduces a novel MPEG-4-compliant character-animation system. We developed animation technologies enabling production of smooth and expressive high-fidelity facial animation. The experiments show excellent real-time performance while using high-polygon models. This work outperforms the state-of-the-art MPEG-4-compliant animation frameworks XFace and Greta, and provides a more generic facial modelling and animation techniques. The paper was selected as one of the best papers of ACM SIGCHI-ACE 2010 for publication in ACM CIE journal. The work presented in the paper was part of the project Charisma supported by BBC R&D, and was developed during their participation to the EU project CALLAS.
