The knowledge gained through the comparison of data mining methods reported in this paper led to a research collaboration and R&D project with the Costain Group, Bluefrog Design Ltd, Virtalis Ltd and M Wrights & Sons Ltd, (EPSRC/TSB project “18834-132285 - Development of an innovative Autonomous Model Development Tool for boosting manufacturing process competencies - ADMT”). The comparison of data mining techniques reported enabled methods to be developed for selection of best-practice data mining techniques essential for identifying the process competence relationships within the autonomous model development tool.
