Additional information

A computational approach of reasonable speed was developed to enable a tool to optimise the Direct Metal Laser Sintering process to reduce thermal distortion. It was stated by the paper’s reviewers as the first time this had been achieved. The project was undertaken in collaboration with Roman Esterlein from Dortmund University, Germany.
