Additional information

We developed a mathematical theory for an advanced microscopy technique used in biomedical research.

Based on this work we published Open Source microscopy software, praised by a Journal of Optics editorial as being "invaluable for anyone implementing localization algorithms” [doi:10.1088/2040-8978/15/9/090201]. Several groups worldwide employ this software to support their applied microscopy research and technology development projects [R. Henriques, UCL; R. Roy, IIT Bangalore, +6 more]. Our expertise in this technique supported a successful bid for a grant (Leverhulme, RPG-2012-793) to apply the technique to Virology; and to further published advances in microscopy software (doi:10.1364/OE.21.010978), also Open Source.
