Significance of output:

The authors have proposed a completely novel design approach based on directly minimising the system's bit error rate (MBER), which represents a break away from the traditional minimum mean square error (MMSE) design principle. The work shows how system capacity can be enhanced beyond the previously accepted limit of the traditional MMSE design and, as such, constitutes a new benchmark for multi-input/multi-output system design.
