Electrospinning of Concentrated Polymer Solutions
The author (a) made a substantial contribution to the conception and design of the study, and (b) helped draft the output.
Developing a method that used highly concentrated polymer solutions will allow the electrospinning technique to: (a) produce fibres with larger diameters (µm scale); this is important in the application of the technique to tissue engineering where scaffolds need to mimic the extracellular matrix (ECM) and, as such, these larger diameters an known to provide a better model for the fibres in ECM and (b) commercial production of fibres would be more profitable if any health scenario (drug delivery, tissue engineering) if the turnaround time is decreased by utilizing high concentration starting materials.
