Additional information

<13> This paper presents results arising from an international collaboration between a biologist at Stirling and two applied mathematicians at Stirling and at the University of Wisconsin - Milwauke, USA. Invited talks on this paper were given at various leading international conferences and Universities at Barcelona, Edinburgh, Dresden, Glasgow, Minnesota, and Veszprem. The major highlight of the paper is the use of a distributed recruitment process. This novel modelling approach has started to attract interest from researchers and the work has been cited in publications, for example in the journals: Applied Mathematics and Computation, Applicable Analysis.
