Additional information

<10> A formal framework for modelling ecological and population systems using process algebra is presented here. This is the key scientific development of our EPSRC project entitled, “System Dynamics from Individual Interactions: A process algebra approach to epidemiology” (£343K, EP/E006280/1, Principal Investigator Shankland). Our novel focus on computational models of population dynamics forms an important key part of the recently-awarded £1.2M EPSRC project (EP/K039342/1, Principal Investigator Shankland) entitled “Improving patient outcome by integrating the generic with the personal”. Our technique will enable us to model, in an abstract way, the inter- and intra-cellular communications in cancer-related effects
