Additional information

Whole crude oil hydrotreating is a new technology that has not been reported by anyone else except us. This output is one of four papers submitted to REF2014 by Wood (and Mujtaba). This paper develops kinetic models for the removal of nitrogen and heavy metals with kinetic parameters previously non-existent in the literature. An accurate kinetic model is essential for any model based activity such as scale up, economic feasibility calculations, etc. At recent PARTC (Cape Town) and MEPEC (Bahrain) conferences, the work attracted the attention of a number of industries (Invensys, Johnson Matthey, DuPont, Sasol, Haldor Topsoe).
