This paper was the first reported study employing independent component analysis to simultaneously solve the problems caused by multipath channels and nonlinear amplifiers in wireless communications. The work was developed in an EPSRC funded project (EP/E026915/1) and validated by hardware in an EPSRC funded knowledge transfer project (EP/H500146/1, with Ranplan Ltd). This paper has produced over 10 follow-up publications.
